Understanding AI Processing Limits

Learn how upload, page, and AI usage limits work across imports and document processing.

What counts toward AI processing

AI processing is primarily tied to document pages that TermUp extracts. Your plan can limit how many pages can be processed in a quota period and how many pages a single file can contain.

Deleting a document later does not restore AI processing usage for the current quota period.

How file and quota limits interact

  1. A file can be rejected if it exceeds your plan’s per-file page cap.
  2. A file can also be rejected if it would exceed your remaining AI processing pages.
  3. Daily upload limits can apply separately from AI page limits.

What happens when you hit the limit

If your monthly AI processing quota is exhausted, direct upload and cloud import are locked until the next quota reset. TermUp shows a message explaining that the lock is temporary and when uploads can resume.

Where to look when something is blocked

The Upload page is the first place to check. It can show whether a specific file is too large, has too many pages, or whether your remaining AI processing quota has been used up.
