Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

Protect your account with a time-based authenticator app and a six-digit sign-in code.

How 2FA works in TermUp

TermUp uses time-based one-time passwords (TOTP). After you enable 2FA, signing in on a new session requires both your password and a six-digit code from your authenticator app.

How to enable it

  1. Open Profile and find the Two-Factor Authentication card.
  2. Start setup to generate a secret and QR code.
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app like 1Password, Authy, or Google Authenticator.
  4. Enter the six-digit code to confirm and enable 2FA.

How to disable it

To disable 2FA, return to Profile and enter a current authenticator code. This prevents someone with a live session from silently removing account protection without access to your authenticator.
