Company-level reminder defaults
In Settings, you can define default reminder timing before renewal dates and cancellation deadlines. You can also choose different schedules by renewal frequency and set the company timezone used for reminder timing.
Each reminder schedule can contain up to 10 reminder days, with each value between 1 and 365 days before the event. This keeps reminders useful without creating alert fatigue.
Document-level reminder controls
Each document can use Email, SMS, and Slack reminder channels depending on your plan and connected integrations. Turn each channel on or off for that specific document. Document owners (selected from the dropdown in the document form) and assigned teams receive user-specific reminders; Slack reminders post to the connected workspace channel.
For the full setup flow, see Setting Up Email, SMS, and Slack Reminders.

First-message opt-out footer
The first informational SMS a user receives from TermUp includes a short "Reply STOP to opt out." footer, as required by carrier compliance. Subsequent reminders to the same user are compact and omit that footer.
Recipients can text STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to the TermUp number at any time to opt out. They can text START later to resume receiving SMS.
