Billing, Plans, and Cancellations

Understand plan limits, monthly vs annual billing, upgrades, and cancel-at-period-end behavior.

Plan behavior

Billing is managed from the Billing page. You can compare Standard and Pro, switch between monthly and annual billing, and review your subscription status.

Standard focuses on the core document tracking workflow and includes one-time calendar file exports. Pro adds advanced collaboration and AI tools such as Google Drive and Dropbox import, live Google and Outlook calendar sync, Ask This Document, Contract Comparison, comments with @mentions, Activity Log, SMS and Slack reminders, multi-company access, and spend analytics.

Monthly vs annual pricing

  1. Standard: $6.99/month, or $75/year (about 10% less than monthly).
  2. Pro: $14.99/month, or $161/year (about 10% less than monthly).
  3. You can switch between monthly and annual on the Billing page. Annual savings apply at the next renewal cycle.

How limits work

Limits vary by plan and can include documents, users, daily uploads, AI processing pages, per-file page caps, tasks, and SMS usage. Some limits are visible on billing screens, while others are enforced in the relevant workflow when you upload, import, or send reminders.

Free trial and grace period

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with full Pro-level access. When the trial ends, there is a 3-day grace period during which your account is read-only — you can still view documents, reports, and reminders, but cannot create or edit records. After the grace period, you must subscribe to continue using TermUp.

The same 3-day grace period applies if a subscription is canceled or payment lapses, giving you a short window to update billing before access is restricted.

What happens when you cancel

If you cancel a paid subscription, access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refund is issued. After the paid term ends, the 3-day grace period begins, then the account becomes read-only until you resubscribe.

Where to manage billing

  1. Use the Billing page for in-app plan changes and status visibility.
  2. Use the customer portal when you need Stripe-hosted billing management.
  3. Check your active workflows for plan-based limits if a feature is unavailable or locked.
